History
International Journal
of Vine and Wine Siences
The Connaissance de la vigne et du vin Journal was created in 1967 by the founding members of the association of Former Pupils of the Faculté d'oenologie de Bordeaux. At the time their aim was to circulate quickly, on a national and international scale, the results in French of scientific and technical works carried out by French and foreign specialists in the field of vines and wine.
In 1990, the Association of Former Pupils set up its own publishing house, Vigne et Vin Publications Internationales.
Since then, the International Journal of Vine and Wine Sciences has followed on from Connaissance de la Vigne et du Vin
The Journal is published quarterly and contains authors' original articles and notes (in French or English) covering all scientific and technical aspects of wine-growing and oenology.
The International Journal of Vine and Wine Sciences is internationally renowned and has a wide and varied readership (more than 40 % of the journals are sold around the world: Europe, Africa, North and South America, Asia). Readers of the International Journal of Vine and Wine Sciences are to be found in all the French and foreign wine-growing regions. Among them are chiefs and advisors from production and trade, researchers and technicians from R&D laboratories, in the official and private sectors. This readership represents around 4,000 people. A reading committee made up of international experts selects the articles according to their scientific interest. Thanks to constructive criticism from the Scientific Committee, authors can see the results of their research being given their true worth, and readers can be sure to find original articles of quality.
The full summary in English of each articles ensures referencing in databanks.
